The Biography of Krista Hartman
"A
heart-wrenching combination of lilt & gravel
and purity of voice."
.................-anonymous fan,
overheard at a show.
A
world traveler, a commentator on human goodness and frailty, a
social vagabond, and one of the fun-est people you could ever
hope to meet, Krista Hartman has honed her craft as a songwriter
and performer by wandering the globe, playing stages everywhere
and by singing with ESL students, teaching language through song
in classrooms from Canada to Asia.
Krista has seen more, heard more, and told more stories than most
folks two and three times her age, and her deceptively simple
songs are the repository and touchstone of her experiences. Krista's
songs are rife with melodies that stick unrelenting in the minds
and hearts of those who hear them. Sentiments all delivered with
a voice that will leave you wishing that you, and you alone, were
the very inspiration for the lyrical and musical strains contained
within.
Thankfully,
her hard work has not been without its rewards; having garnered
regional radio airplay and inclusion on a Calgary-based compilation
with the song "Where's Your Mind Gone". Krista has just
released a full-length album -with the generous support of a recording
grant from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.
